The food and service were both great! My partner and I usually get the Round-Up, which we recommend.
Rattlers is one of the oldest local BbQ in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley neighborhoods. My first taste of their food was in my 20's during our teamwork celebrations and recognitions at their old location. During that time, their BBQ baby back ribs has been excellent and better tasting than today; the meat practically falls off the bones. Their beef and chicken were tastier and more saucy at the time and seemed meat was in some measure, easier to the taste. I know that the owners have had some degree of re-organization and transformations within the BBQ family but it seems the food and meats has changed too, in the way it's cooked, prepared and sauced. We ordered the baby back ribs for this review to compare it with the many years of patronizing this restaurant. The baby back ribs is no longer what it was, the meat was a little hard, didn't fall off the bones and has limited bbq tastes. The beef was averaged and no longer as tasty as the original bbq that brought many of us to this location. In the past, we drove to this location that defined the BBQ of a generation but the cooking seemed to have changed and gone down. Don't get me wrong, it's not too bad; I'm just comparing to the level of its bbq more than 20 years ago when it baby back ribs was the standard. I hope that this review will wake the new owners back and reflect on what it was to what it's supposed to be. Please bring back the original tastes and sumptuousness of bbq that defined Rattlers for many years.
I'm not a huge fan of BBQ and I'm really picky with it. My bf wanted to try this place so we decided to grab lunch here recently to finally try it since we always smelled how amazing it was whenever we went to pick up Pierogis at the now closed Pierogi Spot next door. Parking is pretty good but can be crowded during peak hours. We managed to sit immediately which was great and David B, greeted us and took our order immediately. My bf typically likes brisket but this place doesn't have that. He opted for some ribs on the menu and our waiter kindle let us know it hasn't been looking great lately, in case we wanted to order something else. We recently went to another bbq place that wasn't great so I'm glad he told us beforehand so that we don't waste our money! Wish more waiters did this. He ordered the baby back ribs with a strawberry lemonade and I got the tri tip medium rare with creamy coleslaw and Mac n cheese with unsweetened iced tea. We also got some garlic rolls to start with which were amazing! Super fresh, soft, crispy on the outside, and delicious garlic goodness. I love dipping it in their bbq sauce! This is exactly the kind of bbq place I would eat at. The bbq sauce is on the sweeter side, just how I like it. The drinks are huge! They come in big mason jars so you really get a lot. Once our food came out, I wasn't crazy about the coleslaw, wish it was creamier honestly but the Mac n cheese was delicious. This is by far the only place I've tried yet, that has perfected a medium rare tri tip. The way it was perfectly cooked and sauced/seasoned was amazing!! I even had leftovers for dinner but I was incredibly happy that I enjoyed this place since I'm a picky bbq eater. Highly recommend this place! In the end, our waiter accidentally charged an extra item on our receipt but was able to refund it almost immediately. Great spot and looking forward to coming back! IG: @ammysalamii
Great food, great service, & a great time! Food: the food here isn't five stars but it's pretty close to it! Great menu options with very reasonable prices & large portions. Tonight, we ordered a combo plate of baby back ribs & bbq chicken, a bleu cheeseburger, & a kids hamburger meal. The combo plate was absolutely delicious & came with two sides of choice. We opted for the bbq beans & mashed potatoes, the bbq beans were just ok but the mashed potatoes were 10/10. The bbq chicken was more than flavorful & cooked to perfection & the baby back ribs were filled with meat & perfectly tender. The Bleu cheeseburger I'd easily order again as it was big & flavorful & also came with 2 sides. The sides I chose were the French fries & Mac & cheese. The french fries were good however I do not recommend the Mac & cheese at all as it was dry & had absolutely no flavor. I also want to note that they brought out complementary rolls which were unfortunately very dry & stale. Atmosphere/service: this location is very spacious & well kept. Plenty of parking along with outdoor & indoor seating. Service is phenomenal, staff is extremely friendly & attentive & food comes out hot & fast. I love that it is also very kid friendly here! Overall, great experience I look forward to returning!
My husband and I served for the morning at Children's Hunger Fund and thanks to Yelp, found the restaurant nearby! It is a fun country environment with cowboy boots and Western theme all around. We know we were at a good restaurant when we saw 4 hearty guys waiting for their barbecue to go order!! We aren't big eaters, so we had leftovers, but highly recommend the trip tip BBQ chopped salad and pork BBQ sandwich. The raspberry tea was refreshing and served in wide mouth quart jars with lots of ice!! The wait staff was friendly and service was efficient and speedy. Our server's name was Theresa .. She couldn't have been a better or more friendly person. Our orders were timely and as we ordered them. She was attending about 8 tables at the same time with ease and professionalism. Thanks, Theresa!! We will definitely be back when we are in the area!!
My son and I recently went to Rattlers and I was not disappointed! Even with a sizable crowd, the wait time was only about ten minutes. We both got the tri tip steak (medium rare) and the food came out fast as well! Great service, great food, great local barbecue spot!
